Ok, so the quote is actually “my cup runneth over”, but I feel that I cannot simply speak for myself, but I have to speak for my family. Tonight was our first public meeting of our little project and what a night it was. The fact is, unexpectedly, our website is being downloaded in such places as Korea, Brazil, India and all over our great United States. If you would have told me a month ago that we would be seeing this, I would not have believed you. Tonight however, was something more special than I could have ever imagined.
Going into tonight, I wondered what would happen with our meeting. I spent my day wondering, “how many people will come?” and “did I buy enough cookies?” I say that somewhat tongue in cheek, but I wondered if the turnout would be worthwhile. Not saying that we would no longer pursue this endeavor, but whether we were going about this the right way. Well, long story short, we are definitely going about this the right way! Our first meeting was a huge success and I could not be more grateful for each and every person who was there tonight! We met families from all walks of life who are facing the same daily struggles, the same stereotypes and also trying to everything in their power to continue to walk with their heads held high! We had people who felt desperate for help, others who could lend a helping hand and even more that simply just wanted to say “thank you.” Personally, I could not help but become overwhelmed with gratitude but after all the gratitude received, I can never fully repay the debt of gratitude I feel for those who made this possible.
To each of you I leave you with this; “Our cup runneth over.”
